buffalo october 10 - 2007hey gang! well… this is my first post!

we are in philly tonight playing at the ‘troc’ which has some good charm to it though our guitars are buzzing like crazy. some of the older venues have crappy power. i’ve played a lot of venues in philly: pi lam, upstairs at nicks, pontiac grille, the upstage, the khyber, the first unitarian church, starlight ballroom, the northstar and some all ages place i can’t remember that well… i remember playing with matt pond pa. none of the venues are put together too well, but the shows were almost always great. much love to philadelphians.

now… buffalo? well… last night some schmuck stole my Gibson SG guitar. he took it while we were loading our stuff out of the club. after triple searching every piece of the club and our stuff, the club went through the parking lot with a flashlight looking inside cars and found it! an oldesmobile bravada with tinted windows. the thief put it in the back of his car and then went clubbing i guess. we called the cops who were very pleasant, but after calling in the license plate number and finding out whose car it was, they said they couldn’t break into the car to retrieve the guitar. we would have to wait for the person to come back. which we figured he wouldn’t considering he probably saw about 20 people crowded around his car. the cops were sympathetic though. after someone suggested creating a diversion for the cops so they wouldn’t see us break into the car, one cop said, ‘i think i need to go somewhere for a few minutes.’ the other cop nodded and they both got into their cars and sped away. i walked as far as i could from the parking lot and let things take their course. my guitar was retrieved and brought to our vehicle. this was not the way i wanted things to go. i wanted this thief to be prosecuted, but i did appreciate the pragmatism of the officers.
they said they couldn’t impound the vehicle. we would’ve had to wait for the thief to return to the car. i could’ve been stuck in buffalo for days.

oh yeah… we went to mccarthy’s across the street earlier. not merlin’s. got a good veggie burger with jackson (grand buffet) and davey and kev at jim’s. i love my grand buffet peeps. more on them l8rdaze…. b.p.
