It is a good idea, and I agree; much more exciting than just a boring old CD cover. I hate CDs. They're all plastic-y and yeah..
But do you really want the idea to catch on? Because EVERYONE will have unconventional packaging, therefore making it conventional and unexciting??! It will then be more unconventional and experimental to do the (what will then be) vintage design of just a square cover. Hmm??!
But I like it. Shame that just about nowhere in England sells your music. I have to get it from iTunes. I don't even get a CD. I know - sad.

brilliant marketing idea.

But I totally comprehend people who makes free downloads in some countries, in Brazil, by example. Here in Brazil we don't have a lot of options of albums to buy, just that featured artists that we're tired of hearing on radios and MTV.
I'll be frank: of Montreal is not a little bit famous in here. I don't find even brazilian virtual stores that sell your CDs. And when we find something out of mainstream, the prize is fucking high, and we cannot buy. So what's the exit? I answer you: download, torrent.
If you ask me if I'd buy one of your CDs, I would answer "yes, of course, but I cannot find them, or, if I find, the prize is high for me. And importation is not an option. Very burocratic".
I hope you comprehend these people that don't have how to adquire your CDs, or of any other artist, because it's not our fault.
