Barnes got nearly naked and rode around the stage on a white stallion. He’d also hoped to shave his head and eyebrows and cover his entire body in red paint, but at the last minute, he opted to go just with the paint. “It takes a really long time for your hair to grow back,” Barnes says. “I chickened out.”

MTV’s Newsroom matches up of Montreal’s Roseland Ballroom concert with Madonna’s Sticky & Sweet Tour. The winner: of Montreal. Although the author doesn’t seem to realize that Kevin never rewrote “Wraith Pinned to the Mist (And Other Games)” for Outback Steakhouse. Let. It. Go.

of Montreal’s Parvati Khan/M.I.A. cover ”Jimmy” appears on the new charity compilation Give. Listen. Help. Volume 5, which is now available at Urban Outfitters stores. Other artists featured on the two-disc comp include Radiohead, The Decemberists, Bloc Party, Ladytron, CSS, and more. (Note that “Jimmy” also comes as a free download with all Skeletal Lamping pre-orders placed through Polyvinyl’s website.) Proceeds from the album go to the Pablove Foundation.
