I saw them on Letterman the first time (2007) but didn’t get it recorded. Does anyone have a copy I can get or at least know the song they played?
      Thanks

Wait! I just saw something about them being on Conan in April of ’07…I swear it was Letterman…maybe both!? Anyone know?

That was a perfect performance of my favorite song from skeletal lamping. thanks!

      Meh…
Umm first off I’m the biggest oM fan I’ve ever met, so I’m not “hatin” on you guys or anything. But frankly I was dissapointed by the performance. The band just looked kind of stiff and out of place. And all the extra stuff going on behind wasn’t really working for me. I saw you guys live in LA and thought it was the most amazing thing ever, and this performance just seemed like a cheap half assed reproduction. I understand that there were obviously constraints since you were on Letterman, but I guess I was expecting something better. I guess I’ve just come to expect non stop amazingness…

No worries though, still more in love with of Montreal than I care to admit. And if nothing else hopefully the show was interesting enough to get some new people to youtube you and see how much more amazing you usually are.

this was the best thing since mel brooks’ brain.
you guys were absolutely perfect :D

Great performance, I love the live horns, gorgeous song… All the way from the 40 watt to David Letterman, congratulations, damn what a journey you’ve made. I’ve seen you guys live every tour in Athens for the past 4 albums, this time was the best. Top notch performance, great stage presence, and the theatrical presentation fuckin rocks out. Can’t wait to see you again, wish I could be in Athens on New Years.

Your performance was awesome, coming from someone who has yet to see you live and is not sure when that will happen. I can’t wait for the day though! This is about as close to seeing you live as it gets. <3

You all looked and sounded amazing. I was really diggin’ the surprising amount of clothing that Kevin was wearing. I wonder…does Kevin does the make up himself? Either way, it’s fantastic. Congrats, guys!

excellent performance; I saw you guys tuesday night in brooklyn and it was so good i couldnt listen to anything on the drive home to jersey. Could not bear to cleanse my sound palette right away with anything. I have been so excited to see you guys on letterman ALL week. im glad they didnt entirely force you to water it down. long live the golden buddhas? ha.

I pulled 48 hours of no sleep studying for finals and power drank some Coca-Cola to stay up for the show and it was the perfect break from the books. You all are so amazing and after discovering your music my freshmen year it has been a joy to have in my life. My grandma taped the show for me just in case I didn’t make it and she told me in the morning that she certainly got a kick out of the giant moving man in the background, haha. Good luck and congratulations to you, I’m so very happy for you and your many successes this year.

You were fantastic! The random stuff going on in the back was great, and I love that Kevin came out of the little tent even though you weren’t performing Id Engager. It was perfect, as always.
I love love love you guys, you are all extremely attractive and talented and have made my life perfect just by existing.
      I adore all of you.

You guys were great on Letterman! I absolutely adore everything you have done and think your concerts and skeletal lamping collection are brilliant. Come back to Boston soon!!

Hope you have a very merry Christmas and fun time at the 40 watt on new years!

I set up my digital TV antenna just so I could watch. My hubs and I were surprised to see Kevin in so much clothing for so long…although it was fabulous analogous purpleness with red patent wonder. We were just so thrilled and proud to see you all on a show with such broad reach!
Can’t wait to see you again live on the 30th AND 31st!!

    23. AllisonC says:

      Dec 28, 2008

Loved it! Although I honestly think Kevin should have worn the standard gold speedo… That’s just me though.

    24. amy says:

      Dec 29, 2008

Judging by the comments here and general OM chatter, Kevin seems to have painted himself into a corner with the whole charade of nudity and theatrics.

      How long will it last?

Based on history alone, Kevin doesn’t stick to the same thing for very long.

I’ll guess it will be interesting to see which last longer, Kevin’s “I’m sexual all the time” phase or the adoring audience once/if he moves on to other artistic venues.

Maybe one has to do with the other…

Way to go guys! It makes me so happy to see you’re spreading the goodness of Of Montreal through cable broadcasting. Maybe all those people that havent yet heard you will be really intrigued and check it out. Everyone deserves to feel your music just as I do :) Much love

Great. I was pleasantly surprised at how great “Skeletal Lamping” is, all the way through. Perfect performance too on Letterman too. The horns made it. Too much Bueno.
