Ok this is random but this morning I was driving down Sunset Blvd. on my way to school when I thought I saw Kevin walk across the street in front of my car at a stoplight. I called out his name, in a sort of half-unsure way and he didn’t respond so I ended up thinking that it wasn’t him… until I read this article about recording at Ocean Way (which is right where I saw him) so it has been confirmed! That’s awesome – I live down the street… email me if you want to hang out with a random fan hahaha

Cool that oM’s getting press, but I really think it’s been quite a while since high production quality was considered an inherently bad thing in indie rock. And they make it sound like Kevin’s prior output had a similar aesthetic to “Slanted and Enchanted.” Which of course is far from true.
On a more positive note, Kevin’s production is already great–can’t wait to hear how even-more-amazing-sounding “False Priest” is! I’m buying this on disc the day it comes out, for sure, then listening to it on headphones. (Then through speakers on my dad’s home stereo system.)

I’m very excited for this CD to come out! It’s going to be great! I’ve loved of Montreal’s music for years. Personally, I could care less if Kevin is going to record with Ocean Way Recording. As long as the sound quality is good.. I’m satisfied.
And what is this I hear about oM recording some of their songs from Skeletal Lamping with Kanye West??? I hate Kanye’s music…. but I’m so sure oM is going to get their name out there with him! Finally I won’t feel like an outsider when I ask if people have heard of you guys… they’re like “Who?”… anyways.. I’m excited.

I really wish more home recording tutorials were geared toward newbies who aren’t electrical engineers.
